From Le Bélier, above Grand Îlet, the Sentier Scout crosses the airy Deux Fesses pass and the Sale plateau before going down to the hamlet of Aurère, in northern Mafate. The views of Piton Cabris, the Bras Bémale and the cirque walls are magnificent.

A few exposed sections, fitted with handrails, are not advised for people who suffer from vertigo. You return the same way with a long climb: start early with plenty of water. Mafate trails often close after landslides: check the ONF before you go.
