At the end of a forest road through the Makes forest, this viewpoint at about 1,600 m opens like a window onto the Cilaos cirque and Piton des Neiges. A viewpoint indicator helps you identify the peaks and hamlets.
Come at sunrise or early morning: the cirque often clouds over around 10 am. The road from Les Makes village is narrow and winding. Stay behind the barriers; the drop is dizzying.
